Hours

The Smith Collection Museum of American Speed offers guided tours at specific times, so please plan your visit accordingly.

May - September:
Daily tours offered Monday-Friday at 2 p.m.
October - April:
Weekly tours on Fridays at 2 p.m.

Tours last approximately 2 hours. Admission for all tours is $10/person. Free Museum tour with proof of purchase from Speedway Motors. The museum is also available for special club, group and company events. Please call 402.323.3166 to inquire about special group events.

We recommend visitors arrive at least 10 minutes early. A wheelchair is available for our visitors upon request. The Museum is not appropriate for young children. It has been designed for Automotive Enthusiasts. Cameras are permitted.

The Museum is located across the parking lot from Speedway Motors at 599 Oak Creek Drive, Lincoln, NE. Look for the building pictured at the right.

Detailed Directions

Coming from the west on I-80:

1. Exit to West “O” street at exit 396.
2. The stoplight is at West “O” street.
3. Turn left (East) 2.2 mi to Sun Valley Blvd., US Rte. 6 (MacDonald’s/U-Stop on right).
4. Turn left (North) 0.3 mi to Westgate Blvd. (traffic light).
5. Turn left (west) 0.1 mi; to Oak Creek Blvd. (first street)
6. Turn left on Oak Creek Blvd. 50 yards to the entrance to The Museum of American Speed at the west end of the gray over white building on your left.

Coming from the east on I-80

1. Driving westbound, Exit 397
2. Follow the ramp to the first, unmarked exit to the right off the ramp. The stoplight is at West “O” street.
3. Turn left (East) onto West "O" St, go 1.5 mi to Sun Valley Blvd., US Rte. 6 (MacDonald’s/U-Stop on right).
4. Turn left (North) 0.3 mi to Westgate Blvd. (traffic light).
5. Turn left (west) 0.1 mi; to Oak Creek Blvd. (first street).
6. Turn left on Oak Creek Blvd. 50 yards to the entrance to The Museum of American Speed at the west end of the gray over white building on your left.

Coming from Kansas City
beginning @ NE-2 @ 87th Street stoplight, (Lincoln Walmart is on right/north)

1. NE-2 (West & North), 7.1 mi.
2. Keep straight (North) onto South 10th Street for 2.0 mi
3. Turn left (West) onto “O” Street for 1.0 mi.to Sun Valley Blvd.,/US-6 (MacDonald’s/U-Stop on left).
4. Turn right (North) 0.3 mi to Westgate Blvd. (traffic light).
5. Turn left (west) 0.1 mi; to Oak Creek Blvd. (first street).
6. Turn left on Oak Creek Blvd. 50 yards to the entrance to The Museum of American Speed at the west end of the gray over white building on your left.

1. North on US-77
